Supportive conversation
’We can only understand the depths of another person if we do not want to change them immediately.’
About myself
I am Zoltán Zsarkó a mental health counsellor. I've been working with people for 25 years, I started my career as a language teacher and the experience I gained there has had a profound impact on me. Through my work, I have become increasingly aware of the importance of mental health for people of all ages and how I can help them to cope with challenges. From the beginning, I made it a point to get to know the person behind the student, so most of the time deep conversations developed in the first couple of lessons. This insight led me to do a coach training and then to become a mental health counselor in university. My goal as a mental health professional is to support people who come to me and help them understand how to achieve mental well-being and harmony in their daily lives. Through empathy, trusting relationships and professional knowledge, I strive to help everyone find their own path to mental balance. I believe that each person has their own resources and strengths, and my aim is to help them recognise and use them to overcome difficulties.
What is a mental health discussion?
A mental health discussion is a supportive conversation that takes place in a safe, accepting
and confidential environment, with the aim of maintaining and supporting mental health.
Throughout the process, the mental health professional listens carefully, helps to organise
thoughts, provides support in thinking through difficulties and helps to deepen self-awareness
and mobilise inner resources.
Mental health counselling is neither psychotherapy nor psychiatric treatment and is not a
substitute for them. Rather, it is a preventive, person-centred form of support with an
emphasis on acceptance, listening and shared reflection.
The service is available to anyone who feels in need of a supportive presence at a difficult
time in their life - whether it is stress, a decision situation, loss, burnout or simply rethinking a
life path.
The role of the counsellor is to support the client as a companion, enabling them to access
their own inner wisdom and regain control of their own life.
